Description
When Kateri was just a child, smallpox left her with poor vision and scars on her face. But Kateri was a strong and determined girl! She sought and found peace through Jesus, especially in the Eucharist. Scorned by her Mohawk tribe for that faith, Kateri traveled the wilderness by foot and canoe to live in a community with fellow Christians. She lived there happily until 1680 when she died from illness at the age of 24. Many call Kateri ?The Lily of the Mohawks.?
