Description
Peter, a simple fisherman by trade, was far from perfect. The saying “ye of little faith” stems from St. Peter?s distrust when Jesus invited him to walk on water. It was Peter who impulsively severed the ear of one of the men sent to arrest Jesus. And it was Peter who denied Jesus three times after his capture. But it was also Peter, the first pope, upon whom Christ chose to build His church. Following Jesus? ascension into Heaven, Peter proclaimed the Gospel with passion until he was martyred in 64 A.D.
